Shoot Me NowClose-Up

Day Nine of the photo challenge finds me with a laptop that is overheating so much I have to spray it with canned air every five minutes.  I also have it sitting on a block of ice. NO LIE.  Do I get points for creativity?

So here I go, better late than never.  Close-up!

large spider

This is a writing spider.  They say if it writes your name in its web, you will die.  Oops!

  • That picture is as amazing as it is scary.

  • mikewjattoomanymornings

You know full well that I hate spiders! They’re evil, deadly creatures. Satan’s spawn. Demonic.

And now one has my name written in its web.

What’s your blog called? Oh yeah, Shoot Me Now.

    I should…

    • mikewjattoomanymornings

      It’s a good photo, tho.

      • mikewjattoomanymornings

        Still hate you!

  • Yay for insect pics! Great pic though but also, why do you live anywhere within a 100 mile radius of that thing???

  • That is really some awesome detail. Great capture!

  • Ha! This is exactly like kindergarten, except Mike’s the girl with the pigtails and you’re the bully who’s in love with him and keeps pulling his hair. You’re probably to blame for the bald spot, too.

It’s a really good photo, though. Too bad I’m now too traumatized to continue with the challenge and you guys will have to go on without me.

  • You know you brought this on yourself, don’t you? That is some creepy spider! (Make sure nobody sees it when the realtors bring people around to see your house.) Good luck with the computer thing!

  • Definite points for creativity! It’s like you’re the Charlotte of teh challenge.

  • ReformingGeek

Oh, I LOVE these spiders. We have one this year. We used to have several of them hanging out near the shrubs.

Hee Hee. Poor MikeWJ. I wonder if he has lost more hair because of this photo.

    Excellent shot.

  • You absolutely get points for creativity. What an awesome closeup. Talented spider that can spin MikeWJ into his web. Must be a distant relative of Charlotte from Charlotte’s Web story.

  • Ron

    *three loud cheers*

FANTABULOUS capture for this closeup theme, Katherine!

    WOW….awesome photographs!

  • <—- DEAD!

Too scary for me to look at this one!

  • Great shot of that sucker. I know it has several colloquial names and we called them garden spiders because that’s where we always found them. Scared the crap out of me every single time because they were so well-hidden. I love them now because they’re mosquito munchers and now that I see them out in the open, I adore their written webs.

Way to hang tough with a burning-out laptop!
