THREE

This month’s photo challenge subject is three.  There is so much open interpretation to “three.”  I can’t wait to see what everyone came up with!

My old neighbor began brewing beer shortly before he moved to California.  When he found out his friend was driving to Virginia he sent three home brews across country to me.  The award winning pumpkin beer was amazing.  And the gingerbread beer?  NECTAR OF THE GODS.

“Three cormorants and a partridge in a pear treeeeeee!”

It had been about three months since we went to Corolla.  The last time I was there I had a police officer knock on the door to tell me my son had collapsed and I needed to get home.  One open heart surgery later I didn’t want to go back.  But my son made me.  My first early morning walk and my first piece of sea glass brought the start of much needed healing.

During this same weekend we were able to witness something pretty rare.  Whales were swimming north, spouting as they went.  Here are three of my family members sharing this special moment together.  This was the last weekend my son had to wear his defibrillator vest.  It was a week of big things.

” My first early morning walk and my first piece of sea glass brought the start of much needed healing.”

Katherine, I had a feeling that once you went back to the beach, you would find healing. I am soooooooo happy for you!

FAB photographs! I would have had a challenging time finding images of three.

Especially love one of the three birds. Brilliant!

I once had homemade wine that was given to me by someone I worked with and it was the BEST I have ever tasted.

    Great post, my friend! X

  • I’m glad you listened to your son. He’s right you know.

Loved all the shots. I’ve visited one other blog that is doing this exercise today.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. ☺

Wow! The story about the sea glass gave me chills. Hope your son is recovering well.

  • Great photos and stories. I hope all is well.

It’s wonderful to read that your son’s recovering well enough that he insisted you return to your own place of healing. Seems cosmic that you found a lovely piece of sea glass and your family shared the unexpected whale watching experience.

What an emotional month for you and your family. I’m glad to hear your son is recovering well and you were able to get back to Corolla for some of your own healing.
How exciting to get to see whales while sitting on the beach!!

  • Lisa

Definitely a roller coaster month for you and your family. I’m happy to see your son is recovering in the last shot. Love the photo of the sea glass. Our daughter who lives in Florida collects it as well. Nothing heals quite like the seaside. Great selection.

  • A gingerbread stout? Now that sounds fantastic! The final photo is really cool, too. Here’s hoping things keep looking up!
