Two Birds, One Stone

Day six of the Ziva Mike photo challenge asks us to portray Two Birds, One Stone.

I made a special trip to Taco Bell for this, as it is the only place I know where you can get a spork.  And my son?  He got a free meal!

what is a spork

  • I must be thick because I’ve not clue what this has to do with the expression nor why there’s a spork in your burrito. I’ll come back after someone else has sussed it out.

    • Two birds, or stone. A spoon and a fork combined…. A Spork. It kills two birds with one stone. Am I stretching it? 😀

      • Sorry dahlin’ but up here in the north we eat burritos with our hands. I’m sure I’d have figured it out if we weren’t such barbarians.

You still live in houses made out of twigs and leaves, don’t you?

          • Of course we do because we’re all environmentalists. Which leads us to plastic sporks, a vile little bit of non-degradable weirdness that hasn’t been allowed up here since we banned the skort.

        • Thanks, Cheryl. Until they explained it to you I was kinda lost too. Must be the frigid Canadian air. It numbs the mind. And we don’t have sporks here either. Why would you need one?

          • I think the spork was used for the Frijoles, which are now called “pinto beans” at taco bell. Plus the spork is the ONLY way to eat an enchirito… not that I eat those. (OK I love them). It is like a small burrito covered in sauce. The only way to drench each bite with sauce is with a spork. Not that I eat them.

          • Thank YOU John. Now I don’t feel quite so alone in my ignorance.

          • Well, it took me awhile, too… but then again, I AM on #teamlame.

  • Oh, that is very nifty! A spork! Not that I’ve ever heard of one before.

  • I haven’t used a spork since my last camping trip years ago.

  • Definitely knocked out two with one. Nicely done. Of course, the spork itself probably fit the bill.

  • I love Taco Bell. Why didn’t I think of that?

  • Ron

    “He got a free meal!”

    That’s AWESOME, Katherine!

You nailed this theme! VERY clever!

  • Hah! It’s perfect for the theme, Katherine, and an awesome spork. 😉 Of course, that burrito probably looked better in real life than on camera…

    • mikewjattoomanymornings

Trust me, Ziva, it didn’t. Of the fast-food chains here in America, Taco Bell — which I affectionately call Taco Smell — is the least appealing.

  • Ah, the spork! Much more popular than that spife or the knork. Well done, Katherine!

  • ReformingGeek

Hee Hee. Nice idea! That actually looks yummy.

  • HA!! OMG!

A spork totally qualifies as two birds, one stone!!

  • A spork? Why not a fspoon? Your photos are great and crack me up. Two birds, one stone.

  • mikewjattoomanymornings

This is really clever, and except for the fact that it’s Taco Bell, a very good idea for today’s prompt. Bonus points for you.

  • Um, yeah. Two tacos with one spork. Right. Okay.

  • You nailed it. Very clever AGAIN!!!

  • MalisaHargrove

Just for you and your clever photo!

    • And this is what happens when you don’t separate your cutlery.
