  • Yeehaw! You’re in! Very glad you labeled this because I’d never have known what it is. It’s so gorgeous I thought it might some decoration around the house.

    • You were the first to figure it out… you get a shiny high five!

  • Ohh, it’s a shiny piece of cheese! No? Well, it’s very pretty and very shiny nonetheless. I’m glad you’e in!

  • I agree with Cheryl. I had no idea what it was tell I read the label. Very shiny.

    • My good friend brought some new weights fishing this Sunday with us… I looked in the bag and thought, “Score! SHINY!”

  • That’s a cool whatever it is. Welcome back to our next journey to insanity.

    • Yes, INSANITY!!!!! And it’s a fishing weight… a shiny one! 🙂

  • Ron

This is like TOTALLY cool, Katherine!

Very original and I love the shine!

Hello fellow participant – at first I think your pic was some lord of the rings kinda thing, till I hovered over it and *sheesh* I should have known! fishing weight …

    • Yes, but what most don’t know but you figured out, it is a LOTR fishing weight! 🙂

  • MikeWJ

That photo is three kinds of shiny, which is triply awesome. It also qualifies for the theme of heavy, which means you only need 28 more photographs. So take a breather, and relax.

    • Oh oh and no one noticed… honestly, I didn’t notice either until today… the weight has a HEART on it!

  • I am so excited you’re doing this again with us! WOOOOO! And also, great job!

  • Great photo! I can’t really tell what it is, but I like it!

    • It’s for FISHEN! Yeaaa!!!! Our favorite pass time, just after swimming in the ocean, and just before hiking. 🙂

  • Perfect photo! I’ve been around those since I was a babe! Too light for the big surf but just right for spot!!

    • Ha ha you ROCK!!! Not only did you know what it is, but you know what would work and what wouldn’t!!!! Actually I’ve been using 2 oz lately because my fishing rod is on its last legs. I plan to ask for a 10 footer for my birthday. So for now I go with 2 oz and just skip fishing on nasty current days. My son, with his monster fishing rod, sometimes uses 4 oz. I’m jealous!

stopping by and leaving some encouragement and to see what you’ve photographed. it’s interesting and shiny. good job.

    • I can’t ask for more… interesting and shiny is what I was hoping for! Thanks!

  • Paula Wooters

All that shininess is only 2 ounces? Whoa!

    • Yup! Funny you said that… my kids tease me because I KNOW it is ounces on fishing weights, but sometimes I slip and say something like, “Do you know where the three pound weights are?” Now THAT would be fun to cast!

  • That is a… it’s a… well, I don’t know what it is, but it is shiny!

    • Ha ha you don’t fish! 🙂 It is a weight for surf fishing… something you find all around in my car! 🙂

  • Barb

oh wow… a fishing weight? Neat!

    • Yup, you got it! It never occurred to me that others would not know what it was – I guess I am so used to them! So you win!

  • Mel

I was going for a necklace pendant. And then I looked closer and smiled. Oh, but what an excellent starting photo! Seriously……up close, personal–just the right angle and with great light and a tinge of reflection.
    Seriously awesome photo!

    • Mel, the day I took it, Sunday, was AMAZING… we were fishing and the sun was just right. AND we had a wonderful croaker for dinner!

  • Coco

It’s an interesting photo. I haven’t noticed it’s beautiful like this. I’m looking forward to your next one!

    • I’m already stuck on the third word – others have gotten ahead already and I’m stuck on three! 🙂

  • At first I thought it was a wedding band imbedded in that hunk of metal and thought “Uh, oh, somebody’s sunk.” Then I realized what it was and realized I was kinda close. Noce pic.

  • I’m loving everyone’s shiny objects today, YOURS included!

    • After seeing your own shiny, I was thinking I wish I had tried to get my reflection in it… I loved this first word!

  • Fits the prompt perfectly…not that any of us can figure out what it is. Very clever of you!

    • It’s a fishing weight for a bottom rig – we were fishing Sunday and I saw it and thought… SHINY!

  • Is that an ankle monitor for elf #2? Perfect shot. You know your way behind a camera.
