Picture this. A grandmother pushing three young boys in the shopping cart at the grocery store. I would estimate their ages were 3, 5 and 6. The boys were being boys. Yet they were piled tightly in the cart, not even attempting to get out. Indeed, they were being silly. But boys will be boys!
Unfortunately, the woman had no patience for boys. In every aisle, I heard her fussing at them. Yelling at them. Saying something negative to them.
I was impressed by the fact that they were sitting in the shopping cart without the tiniest attempt to escape. Definitely not what would have happened in my own little world!
Just my luck, the unhappy grandmother was in the line right next to me. One of the boys asked for something and she blurted out VERY SERIOUSLY, “I am going to sell all of you on Ebay! That is what I’m going to do. I’m going to sell you!”
A kind woman behind her saw how the situation was escalating quickly. The boys looked a little frightened so she calmly smiled and said, “Ohhh… you are just kidding. They are such-good-boys.”
The woman’s reply? “Oh I’m serious alright. And I think I’ll start with YOU!” The you was the smallest of them all. You know… the cute little guy with the scared look on his face?
