Say My Name

Nothing can make your day/week/month/year more than a simple, random act of kindness.  Last week I was the recipient of such an act.

It was actually more than simple.  It was a well thought out act that took imagination, time, money and planning.  And it was done for ME!

First of all… NO SPOILERS NO SPOILERS NO SPOILERS!  I have watched every single episode of Breaking Bad EXCEPT FOR THE FINALE.  My boys and I promised each other we would watch that together.  They aren’t caught up yet.  And so I wait.

I have a Heisenberg wallet.  A Heisenberg shirt.  And a Heisenberg car sticker.  I am also the proud owner of a Los Pollos Hermanos shirt.  Only two people have stopped me to talk about my shirt.  Both times, it made my day.

A blogger friend of mine has watched EVERY episode of Breaking Bad with his wife.  He and I chatted about it, as I have with the most amazing Meleah as well.

Little did I know that this incredible friend was sneaky.  He asked for my address, stating that he had something to send me.  Asking no questions, I passed it along.  However, I admit to making a joke about how I thought it might be blue and made by Heisenberg.  His response?  “Ha!”

A small package arrived a week later.  Its contents?

HA HA HA HA HE REALLY DID SEND HEISENBERG BLUE METH!  Meleah and his wife were also the proud recipients of Heisenberg blue.

Yes, this was amazingly funny and a big surprise.  But more than that, it was an unexpected gift that is still giving.

Throughout this busy week, there were moments when I would randomly remember my package and smile.  Someone thought enough about me to surprise me with a fun and unexpected gift.  This one act of kindness has continued to make me feel good well after it arrived on my doorstep.

With my next paycheck, I want to pass this good feeling along.  I plan to perform my own act of kindness, hoping to make someone else happy as well.

Have you ever been the recipient of a random gift that made your day/week/month?  What was it?

Oh Katherine, I feel like an idiot because I don’t watch TV, so I have no idea what Breaking Bad is even about. However, see the package of BLUE METH (even without having seen the show) made me LAUGH!

That is so AWESOMELY sweet of your blogging friend!

And yes, I have been the recipient of a random act of kindness and it came at such a needed time in my life, that I was beyond touched. And it was from a complete stranger.

    Enjoy your METH, girl!!!!!

  • I have to admit that I know nothing about your gift. Am I stupid not to know what BLUE METH is? I think that is a wonderful surprise and would make anybody’s day, week, month. Sadly I have never been the recipient of a random act of kindness, but I can imagine it would be something really special 🙂

    • Ha ha it is a long story… the show… but basically a normal average science teacher gets terminal cancer. In order to provide for his family after he dies, he cooks meth (drug) for money… and it goes on from there. Of course it isn’t that simple… it is quirky, funny, horrible and amazingly written. 🙂
