Joined by my fellow crazy buddies  Ziva, Mike WJ, Nicky and Mike, Mo, Nonamedufus, Bryan, Mariann, Malisa, Nora, LaughingMom, Tanya, Elizabeth A., 00dozo, Cheryl, Kristen, Pam, Meleah, I have been challenged to post a picture depicting “Waiting.”

Today’s waiting?  Happy yet uneventful hours of the following:

Corolla Surf Fishing

Uneventful that is, until we met George.

outer banks puffer fish

As you can see, George is very happy.  Because George was caught by a particular eleven year old girl who firmly believes cute fish with puppy dog faces who do circus tricks need to be placed back in the sea.

mom blog

  • Man that’s one ugly fish…but a series of great photos. And a very colourful reel and poll.

    • And guess what??!  That is my MOM’S new rod and reel!!! She is in her seventies!  SHE ROCKS!

  • Of the three photos, I like the first one the best. The other ones: ewwww. 🙂 But really I like the first one because it fits the theme, the others, eh. 🙂

    • Ha ha!  The first is the official contest photo.  The others were cause I just couldn’t help myself.  AND I didn’t remember one photo per contest day.  Oops!  I gotta brush up on the rules!

    • dogearedcopy

This form the guy who once or twice (possibly more) a picture of frog legs to at on his blog?! No way, the blowfish is way more cuter 🙂

  • Holy crap. Does that fish have two HUGE bottom teeth? I have NEVER seen ANYTHING like that!

    • Meleah… it had that on the bottom AND the top!  When trying to remove the hook, he bit down and I could not move the pliers at ALL!  He could take off a finger!

  • Man, I wish I had had a pink reel growing up. Seeing kids fish is great.

  • That first photo captures one of the best views ever! Makes me think of my father.

    • Awwww!  My Dad set up his fishing rod in the very same spot.  How neat you mentioned your own dad!

  • Waiting while fishing is almost always a given.  That’s one odd looking fish though.  Just saying.

    Have a terrific day.   🙂

    • A wise old man told me once as he saw we had no fish, “you are fishing… you aren’t catching!”  That made me laugh!

  • Ahhh!  I love that she wants to put it back!  Fun!

    • Linda, my oldest was MAD… “that’s FOOD!”  HA HA!  I told him too bad.  It is HER rod… HER fish… he can do whatever he wants with HIS fish, but my daughter?  She is allowed to made decisions on her own.  And she did!  🙂  Yeaaaa!

  • “Cute fish with puppy dog faces.” I don’t think you and I are looking at the same photo here. 😉

    • I actually agreed…. they are pretty cute in person.  They actually look “up” at you like puppy dogs. 🙂  And they smile!  Oh, and as you can see above, it was pointed out I broke a contest rule. One photo per day.  OOPS!  I am sorry!

      • Hah! I’m glad Mike got out the whip (hope you’re not too sore!) I was being the cool ‘parent’ for once and was going to let it slide. 😉

  • Hey, I’ve caught those.  Never thought of them as “cute” though, but we did throw them all back. 🙂

    • The tackle shop told us they are delicious… so we did eat ONE we caught. And they were right.. NO FISH TASTE… just tender and light and wonderful!

      • dogearedcopy

LOL, Somehow I don’t see myself eating anything that has “stared up at me with puppy dog eyes!’

  • Looks cute to me!  When I first saw the picture, I thought you were waiting for vacation, I know I am!

    • Nora, I took two days off and we stayed at my mom’s beach house in the Outer Banks. Heaven.  I was in HEAVEN.  Tomorrow, back to work. Meh.

  • I smile like that when I’m anticipating fish and chips. In that way George and I are alike.

    • Ha ha!  I hate to say, George’s friend didn’t make it.  He turned in to lunch. Nom nom!

  • Anonymous

That’s the weirdest-looking fish ever. Great smile, though.

Oh, and you broke the one photo rule. You will be punished.

    • OH NO OH NO OH NOOOOO!  Ha ha!  I had to go back and read the rules! OOPS!  Totally a mistake.  So ignore the bottom two.  Actually in reading the rules, I stopped myself from breaking yet ANOTHER in tomorrow’s picture.  I had more than 250 words. Gosh, you can dress me up, but you can’t take me ANYWHERE!

  • Mel

Awwwwwwwwww…….brilliant ‘waiting’ photo.  But an even MORE brilliant photo of happy George.

I love that gal of yours!  Good for her!!

  • Wow! Sweet rod & reel and fantastic shots of the blowfish. Glad your little one chose to send George back to be caught another day.
