My Messy Chicks

Today’s blog writing theme subject is “Organizing.”

I love being organized. Sadly, my home is very far from any order whatsoever.

For years I have tried. I’ll get so sick of not being able to find anything that I spend an entire week scrubbing, throwing things away and scrubbing some more. Everything in its place. Perfect.

But those in my household are not so organized. Within three days all has gone to pot.

How frustrating. How infuriating. How amazingly depressing. Nowadays I just don’t do it anymore. Every time I scrub I get scrubbed.

But you know what? One day I am going to have all the time in the world to clean and organize. And I don’t want that to come any time soon. Because that would mean all my messy chicks have left the nest. I would much rather have the mess!

Wise words, Katherine! It really puts what’s important into perspective.

    LOVE the chick photo!!!!!

    • Ha ha… bing said it was free to use and share… then I put the quote in there. I like them too!

  • They can help though. I don’t know how old they are, but they can help. It’s a good thing. I know it’s hard to see you chicks grow up and leave the nest. Been there and done that.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

    • They work really hard… between work (and they save all their money woo hoo!) and school for the younger one, college classes… and trash/dishes/chores/yard. But yup, the house? What slobs! 🙂

  • Excellent way to look at it. No need to rush it, right?

    • My gravestone certainly won’t say, “I wish I had spent more time cleaning and less time going on adventures with my children.” So it is all good!

  • In spite of my organizational tips and my ability to organize, it never stays that way either, and I have no messy chicks, but I do have a husband, plus more things than places for them.

Agreed. I even like a messy yard, preferring the over grown look to the neat and manicured look. Unfortunately, the city I live in doesn’t agree.

    • I LOVE gardens that are just full of STUFF…. nothing neat… just wild!
