Lumpia are pastries of Chinese origin similar to spring rolls popular in Indonesia and the Philippines. A variant is the Vietnamese lumpia, wrapped in a thinner piece of pastry, in a size close to a spring roll though, the wrapping closes the ends off completely, which is typical for lumpia.

My dear friends, today I learned quickly that it takes a true craftsman to make homemade lumpia.
And now to break the rules, I will post a second picture for the photo challenge subject, “Craftsman.” Because when you get one out of twenty right, the tiny bit of craftsman in you wants to shout it from the rooftops! (Or the deck of the beach house…)
