Haiku: True Peace

Could this really be day 18 of the WWFC Blog Writing Challenge?  Today we must use the phrase, “Home at Last.”

I’ve told my children to cremate me when I die and sprinkle my ashes on the dunes of Corolla.  Only then will I find true peace.

Fisherman has passed.

Ashes float in the ocean.

Now he’s home at last.

    Katherine, my friend, stunning Haiku.

    As well as the photo!

Yeah, when I die I want to be cremated too.

  • Excellent Haiku. Sad and yet peaceful.

  • Loved it, Katherine. The photo is beautiful too x

  • Very nicely done.

  • Ok, I’m never trying my hand at poetry again. You totally kicked my ass with yours 🙂

Your words and poem are lovely, if a bit sad. I hope your ashes won’t be sprinkled at Corolla any time soon.

  • Greatness. Loved it 🙂

I have a sudden strong urge to sing “My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean”. Your poem dredges up similar feelings of melancholy for me.

  • That sounds pretty good to me!

  • That’s exactly what I want too.
