Not the worst, but just more proof that my life revolves around embarrassment. This one wasn’t even my fault!
Last night we were waiting for our food at Five Guys Burgers and Fries. They called out, “24!” and mom said, “That’s it! That’s our order! Michael, help your mother get the food!” So I go up there and say, “We are number 24.” I should have thought twice after the server gave me a funny look, but nope!
So I take the bag to the table and my son starts to open all the burgers up, announcing what was on each. By the third my mother realized it was the wrong order… So I had to sheepishly go back to the counter and tell them I had taken the wrong order… AND that we had touched all the food. They had to call the REAL number 24 up to tell them their order would be delayed.
My mother did offer to pay for the order we mistakenly picked up, but the Five Guys staff told her not to worry about it. What we didn’t pay in money we sure payed for in embarrassment!
