I Wish Daddy Didn’t Drink So Much!

Today’s blog writing challenge subject is, “Imagine That.”

When I saw today’s writing subject I was immediately brought back to a wonderful time in my past. I used to sit with my young kids on their beds and read bedtime stories every night. I recalled instantly that one of these books had the phrase, “Imagine That” throughout the entire story.

But I couldn’t remember which one! So I began to search the web for “imagine that children’s book” and clicked on “images.” The moment I saw this picture I burst out laughing:

daddy drinks too much

No, this isn’t quite the book I remember reading to my children. And seeing this completely distracted me from my original idea of finding the name of the book.

In all of three minutes I not only suffered from memory loss but was completely distracted and led astray. Kind of a Senior Squirrel Moment. Imagine that.

HAHAHAHAHA! Katherine, I love your sense of humor because it’s a lot like mine!!!

I remember reading those series of children’s books like, “The Gas We Pass – the story of farts.” OMG, they’re so cute!

Yup, I have those Senior Squirrel moments a lot!

    • But I bet you aren’t going through perimenopause! Consider yourself lu… Hey… what was I talking about???? Is it hot in here?

      • Ron

Yes, but it’s called MAN-OPAUSE. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • With all the information at our fingertips, it is easy to get distracted and forget what you were initially searching for…happens all the time. It is sad that there is a need for books like that. I remember stories about kittens and mittens, little piggies, and Dr. Seuss.

    • And “One gray rabbit” and her clay. And Owl Moon. And “We’re going on a Bear Hunt.” All my favorites!

  • OK, I think I need to find this book. … just because I want to see what the heck it could possibly have in it! Imagine that!

  • Bwahahahahahahahaha. You’re finding humor in all the prompts. I like that. A. Lot.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

    • And you are the MASTER of comedy so I take that as a compliment!!! 🙂

  • Paul

    Heh heh heh. Imagine that.

Hahaha! A Senior Squirrel Moment. I suffer from those, too!

But that book .. I know it’s a good therapy for children in difficult situations, but doesn’t making books about it kind of normalise it in their imagination, I wonder?
