Corolla’s Maritime Forest

Day 19 of the photo challenge and I am actually sad we are nearing the end!  Our subject today is “Never.”

There is a wonderful hiking trail at the Maritime Forest in Corolla that we often walk on.  There are arrowed markers throughout the trail to ensure visitors can find their way both in and out of the forest.

One of these markers stops my mother every single time.  I now call it “Mom’s sign,” even taking pictures of it on our last trek.  Mom will always stand and stare at the post, finally saying, “I just don’t know where to go!”

Indeed, if you approach this sign and do exactly what it says, you will NEVER get anywhere!

  • Very interesting. Is there more to that spot than it appears. A porthole to different dimension perhaps?

PS: Please tell me you have both arms.

  • I’ll never figure that one out.

  • what a crazy sign!! I wonder why they did that?

“Indeed, if you approach this sign and do exactly what it says, you will NEVER get anywhere!”

HA! Brilliant photo for this theme, Katherine!

Yes, it’s a strange sign, indeed. Like, which way do we go?!?!

  • That is a hilarious sign! Someone should paint a ? on it 🙂

  • Tell MikeWJ to do exactly what that sign says, and you’ll have created a perpetual motion machine!

      I’m not that stupid.

      Yes, you are.

      No, I’m not.

      Yes, you are.

  • Odd little sign but the fact that it spurs a memory of your mom is sweet.

  • hahahhaha – sounds like my GPS system.

  • ReformingGeek

Ooh, nice choice for the photo. It’s makin’ me dizzy!

Hahahahaha! That’s crazy – and a great photo for today’s prompt!

  • Never saw that one coming

You’re sad we’re nearing the end? WTF is wrong with you, anyway? Take more medication before you do something BAD.

  • There’s nothing on the east coast that’s quite right. This would have me in hysterics & I’d definitely take a picture because so many people don’t believe that these oddities are pretty normal on and off the beaten path. It looks so pretty there. I think you need to put yourself on a time-out in those woods until you come to your senses ~ it kinda freaks me out you’re sad this ending.

  • Well that ain’t going to work.

  • Jackal

oh that would confuse the hell out of me!

  • It’s just missing the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz pointing in opposite directions!

My take on it is that this says “you’re fucked whichever way you go”. Just my luck.

  • Haha! I love this one!!!
