And Her Name Was…

old black and white tornado

She hid in the shadows, waiting to strike.

She kept my life calm, until she yelled, “Psych!”

Out came the babies and life took a turn.

She laughed knowing I had no money to burn.

Viruses, barfing and spreading disease,

Boogers and farting between asthma wheeze.

My house?  Oh so dusty…

My wardrobe?  A loss.

She’s made my life crazy….

Her name is Chaos.

BRAVA, Katherine! So cleverly written because when I first started reading, I had no idea where the poem was going!?! AWESOME finish!

  • Kids’ll do that. But if you wait long enough they’ll all go through it too.

    • Payback’s a bitch, isn’t it!

      • Ha ha ha yup I can’t wait until their “perfect” homes become messes when they have children! And I can’t wait until they get two hours of sleep!

Damn that Chaos. She’s a scary bitch.

  • Nice poem, Katherine. You nailed chaos on the head.

  • Hey, I know her!

When your best weapon against Chaos is Maxwell Smart, you know Chaos is going to win in the end.

  • I love this… so much so that I am going to try to memorize it. It will be the second poem in my life I’ve committed to memory. Well done!

  • I think you’ve got some real poetry talent, Katherine! This was quite good!
