The Life and Death of a Giant Snowman
Published on Thursday, March 5, 2015 by

My children have the chance to build a snowman about once every two years.  And on the rare occasion we get several inches, all of the guys go out to build a giant snowman.

This year with a sinus, ear and chest infection, I stumbled outside to take pictures of the “Building of the Giant Snowman.”  I couldn’t imagine how they would get the giant heavy snow balls on top of each other.  Now… I know!

The base is ready.

A first attempt is made to lift the body.

When at first you don’t succeed, come up with a Plan B.  Their Plan B was to use a skateboard ramp to roll the body on to the base.

That was a FANTASTIC touch on the snowman! LOVE the sombrero too! And WOW…that was one BIG snowman! So glad your kids got the chance this winter to build one! We’ve hardly any snow this winter so I wasn’t able to make any snow angles 🙁 However, today we got slammed with a TON of snow. It snowed from early morning until about 6PM tonight. They even closed the store I work in early, so I only had to work half a day. I spent most of the late afternoon outside getting photographs. I may post them on my blog next week.

And btw, your house looks so nice. I love how you have a front porch!

Have a great rest of your week, my friend!

    • OMG THAT IS NOT MY HOUSE HA HA HA! i WISH!!!! They are on the WATER side of my street… the “that’s were the other people” live side. Boats and docks. But they are amazing people and my kids were raised with theirs. I LOVE their house though!

  • Bwahahahahahahahaha. Sad looking in the end though. They did a mighty fine job putting him together though. Loved that hat.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. 🙂

    • Every morning I looked outside to see if the head was still one. I do miss it!

  • It was a great ride, and like Frosty said, “I’ll be back again someday!”

    • OH OH OH! After I did this post it got REALLY warm. But for some reason there was still a bit of snow and I looked over to see one of them randomly made a teeny little snowman out of the head. It was hysterical!!!

  • Ha! All good things must come to an end. Now… could you PLEASE send that warmer weather up our way?
