Believe it or Not… A New Post

The summer of three surgeries is what I like to call it.  And of illness.  Still.  I am currently fighting an infection that won’t go away, so prayers and positive vibes are OH so appreciated.  On top of that, my oldest – the cardiac arrest open heart surgery kid – was rear ended last week and is in terrible pain.  So I take it back. Switch all those positive thoughts to him as he is my greatest concern.  His heart is AOK though.  PHEW!

I haven’t had very much time for photos, but with Photographer’s Choice, I am back in the game.  What a wonderful way to start posting again.  You won’t be surprised that my theme is once again my escape…..Corolla.

  1.  I normally don’t take flower photos, but I saw these and couldn’t resist.  So fresh and beautiful before the cold weather comes.

2.  This guy was hanging out on the pier at Whalehead.  He was more than happy for me to take his photo.  Or maybe not?

3.  This is Skip.  He is in rutting season.  I was told his neck is thick because of the testosterone pumping through his veins.  He has come out of hiding to find a girlfriend.  Future baby deer!

4.  Last weekend there were hundreds of baby mullet swimming at shore break.  I worked very hard to try and capture them under the water.  The glare makes it very hard, but as I told my friend, “I became one with nature” and got a few that I am really excited about!  This is my “Japanese” nature photo.

5.  This is what I call “the money shot.”  I took many MANY photos trying to capture the mullet in the tiny waves at the water’s edge.  Every time a tiny wave would come I put it in burst mode, attempting to capture the fish going, “Whoooooaaaaa!”  This is my favorite out of the bunch.

Katherine, I was so HAPPY to see that you had posted today because you have been on my mind a lot lately, so I was getting ready to email you to see if you were okay.

So sorry to hear about your continued infection and also the news about your son. Damn, you and your son have been through so many challenges this past year and a half, so you deserve some peace and easy.

Just know that I will be sending both YOU and your SON prayers, positive vibes and lots of love, okay?

And WOW….these photographs are FABULOUS!!!!!!! Honestly, your talent with the camera is freaking AMAZING! That closeup you captured of the bird is stellar. And I can understand why that last shot is your favorite because it’s perfect!

So glad to see you back because you have been missed. Take care, my friend!

    ((((((((((((( YOU ))))))))))))))

  • How about I pray for you and your son. I think I can do both.

    Love all the great shots.

    Have a fabulous day. ♥

Oh my goodness. Wishing swift recoveries and good health to you and your family! I had a winter like that one year and it was terrible.

Your nature photos are beautiful & very soothing.

Lovely nature photos. Feels like I am there. Thanks for sharing.

Katherine, I hope you are feeling a little better each day. Definitely sending positive vibes your way – enough for your son, too! Awesome nearby nature shots!! So glad that, despite everything, you still have enough energy to seek out the solace and wonder of Mother Nature.

  • Oh, gosh … and I thought I’d been having a hard time this summer, with my dislocated shoulder and physio, and then surgery to repair it! I do hope you’re through the worst now and that you throw off this infection soon.

I LOVE the fish-in-the-wave shot! Well done! If it makes you feel any better, when OH worked as a graphic designer, he discovered that a professional photographer was quite happy if he had to take 30 or 40 shots to get the one that was good enough to use!

All your photos tell me something about nature which makes them enjoyable to see. The male deer is searching for a doe and I can see the small mullet fish through the wave like glass in your last shot. Nice work well done.

  • Oh, I missed this one. Lovely photos, especially the bird and the deer…so sweet.
