Day eight of the writing challenge gives us the prompt, “Damn!”

boob joke

Aging.  It happens to all of us.  But as my daughter says, growing up is optional.  I completely agree.

Yesterday my male co-worker came in with the story of the week.  He said that normally he’ll get his hair cut in the evening, but yesterday he had his first appointment during the day.

Walking in, he realized the lunch clientele was quite different from the regular evening crowd.  Soon he found himself seated directly next to two gray haired women who were most certainly in their mid-eighties.

The woman next to him was named Nancy.  Nancy’s equally elderly husband was stone silent, reading a newspaper by the door.

Talking as if my friend wasn’t even in the room, Nancy turned to her friend.  “Wanna hear a joke?” Her friend replied yes. Without any care as to who else was in the room, Nancy tells her joke.

“What did one boob say to the other boob?”

My co-worker held his breath so as not to ruin the moment.  Nancy’s husband remained glued to his newspaper.

“IF WE DON’T GET ANY DAMN SUPPORT AROUND HERE, PEOPLE WILL THINK WE ARE NUTS!”

Nancy’s husband remained glued to his newspaper.  The hairdresser blurted, “NANCY!” while my co-worker laughed out loud.

That’s my girl, that Nancy.  For her, growing up was indeed optional!

““IF WE DON’T GET ANY DAMN SUPPORT AROUND HERE, PEOPLE WILL THINK WE ARE NUTS!”

    HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA! Hilarious, Katherine!

And I agree with your daughter, we all have to age, but growing up is optional. And plan on always staying a KID.

    Have a great Saturday!

    • Ron, and get this… AFTER she said that she asked the overall room, “Do you know what store would sell garters?” One person said, “I think Victoria’s Secret?” She said, “Oh no, I think those are for FUN garters… I mean the other kind!” HA HA HA!

  • Hah, that’s hilarious! Old people are so much fun, they just don’t care about what people think of them anymore.

  • That’s a great approach to life. One grows older but one needn’t grow up. You’ve got my support.

I love this! The fact that it was an old lady telling the joke just made it all the sweeter. I like the way you set the scene, Katherine.

  • Growing is optional, and those ladies took that to heart. Great story, Katherine.

  • That? Is awesome!

  • I love it!

  • ReformingGeek

Hee Hee. That was damn funny!

  • Ha! I’m thinking I should get my hair cut earlier in the day!

  • A perk of aging: You no longer give a damn! 🙂

  • I love that!

  • AhHAhHAHhAAhHAHhH! Best, joke, ever!!!

  • I would have laughed until I cried if I heard/saw an elderly lady say this to another person. 🙂
