Three kids. No time. Small House. It all leads to C-L-U-T-T-E-R. I just can’t keep up. But I can’t stand it either. This is why I decided to join the “40 Bags in 40 Days” challenge that has been floating around the internet.
I don’t even know who started this Lenten Monstrosity. But just as I mumble my curses to writing challenge hosts (I love you Nicky and Mike!), I have been mumbling my curses to the Bag a Day folks. We are supposed to GIVE UP things for Lent, aren’t we? Like cleaning? Isn’t that how it works?!?!
Every day since Ash Wednesday I have cleaned out an area of clutter. This doesn’t mean I have filled a trash bag a day, as that would be an impossible task. Rather, I choose a project and get it done.
As of now I have cleaned out corners of clutter and seven dresser drawers. Drawers that I could hardly open that are now nearly empty. I ask you… just how many screwdrivers does one have to keep in a single drawer?!!
I’ve found coins, pictures, Pokemon figures, Mighty Beans and locks of baby hair. It seems the things I save the most are related to the children. There have been cool finds too. Five amazing antique refrigerator ware pieces I had forgotten about. Sweet!
I have ALSO found junk. Lots and lots of junk.
There is a large bag of give-away items at my front door. My trash can overflowed this week from bags of useless junk. I have some organization in areas that have been unorganized for years. And I have…. Twenty-seven more days to go.
